The
last time the United States was involved in war in the Persian
Gulf, I was a reporter for a daily newspaper in Ohio, a job I took
after a layoff from a corporate communications position, back when
I was still a part-time psychic medium, testing out whether it was
my calling or a temporary madness (after all, who signs up for the
sort of personal attacks that some people in my profession
receive, UNLESS it's a calling?)
By now you know the choice I made, but when I was a journalist, I
was assigned to write about families--mothers, children, husbands,
wives--who had a relative headed to the Persian Gulf War. In that
role, I was led by a subject to a song that spoke to me, called
The Weapon of Prayer by I. & C. Louvin.
THE WEAPON OF PRAYER
In that land across the sea there's a job for you and me
Though our presence there may not be found
We must stay standing there on the battle lines and pray
We must never lay our weapons down
We don't have to be a soldier in a uniform
To be of service over there
While the boys so bravely stand with the weapons made by hand
Let us trust and use the weapon of prayer
Many thousands miles away someone shed there blood today
With a heart so true and brave they're gone
To a war that's yours and mine let us join the battle line

I consider it a wise reminder of the power we have, even when we
feel powerless, to transform this war consciousness.
Use your most powerful weapon: pray for peace.

I'll
be teaching classes, conducting mediumship demonstrations,
participating in a Psychic Fair--my first in YEARS so it should be
fun--and providing private consultations while in Anaheim, CA
(near LA) at the Learning Light Foundation, one of the oldest and
largest metaphysical centers in the country.
I'm truly honored to be a featured Guest Medium; they're great
folks. Plus, it's a wonderful trip to be thinking about as we're
snowed in here in the northeast--at least 2 feet has
fallen--that's "so far!"
California Dreamin' I guess you could say...but it's not just the
weather. The Learning Light Foundation is truly a spiritual place
I'm thrilled to return to. |

SATURDAY, MAY 17 from 10 am to noon, join me in a special event:
Messages from The Other Side with Dr. Lauren.
It'll be a message-packed seminar and, with the help of a few
brave souls, I'll prove that anyone can give a message. (Well, the
brave ones at least...) It's just another way to document that our
loved ones are around us all the time--and that YOU can learn to
decode their messages.
So while you may not get a message--although I'll try to reach as
many people as I can in the two-hour session--you WILL be part of
a very special event certain to touch your heart, and possibly
open it to a new level of understanding this amazing universe we
live in.
Messages from The Other Side will be held in a theatre in
Hamilton, NJ--yes, the kind you see movies in--to give me good
sightlines to people in attendance, wherever they're seated. A
video/CD signing will follow the event.
The location is just off I-295 and easily accessed from the South
Jersey & Philadelphia regions, as well as the Princeton metro
region. If you're taking the train, it's just a five-minute cab
ride from the Hamilton station on the NE Corridor Line, New Jersey
Transit--about 1 1/2 hours from NYC's Penn Station.
If you'd like to attend, the advance ticket price for general
seating is $40. A limited number of VIP seats are available for
$60. All tickets must be prepaid to ensure a seat. If there are
any seats remaining, at-the-door pricing is $45.
PLEASE NOTE that we are limiting attendance to increase your odds
of receiving a message from the Other Side.
