| IMI - Disclaimer | ||
|
IMI does not discriminate on the
basis of gender, nationality, age, religion, sexual orientation or any
other criterion, but please be aware that many factors are involved in the
decision to accept new students into the International Mediumship
Institute, including the energetic dynamics of the existing class groups,
the applicant’s experience with meditation, his/her aptitude for intense
inner work, his/her temperament, whether he/she is currently working on
emotional or physical healing, etc. Applicants who are in counseling,
psychotherapy or and/or in recovery from addictions are strongly
encouraged to inform their therapist, sponsor, and/or other health
professionals of their plans to work on development of psychic, intuitive
and mediumistic abilities, as they can be intense “triggers” at times.
Although Dr. Thibodeau is a nationally certified counselor with trauma,
grief/bereavement and other relevant experience, she is not in a position
to offer psychotherapeutic services, diagnoses, interventions or treatment
in or out of class. If in her judgment, she feels you are not suited to
begin or continue classes because the process is causing/may cause you
emotional distress, you will be advised (in confidence). You will receive
a prorated refund of any tuition paid and no administrative fees will be
deducted. Your Responsibility as an IMI
Student Your promptness matters as an
intuition/mediumship development circle works best when there is a
consistent group of people working together to build a cooperative,
expansive energy. Arriving late affects this process. Please respect your
commitment to your development process, and that of your student
colleagues, by arriving a few minutes early whenever possible so that
classes may begin on time. We kindly ask that you bring your
“best self” to class, although we begin with a period of meditation to
help achieve that state of consciousness. We also ask that you shut off
your cell phone during classes, and avoid the use of strong perfumes or
colognes prior to class, as many are sensitive to fragrances. Class Location Closed classes, for registered students
only, are held at Dr. Lauren Thibodeau’s office, 481 8th Ave. at W. 34th
St., on a commercial office floor inside the Hotel New Yorker Ramada,
which is just across from Penn Station; you will be sent further location
details before the first class. IMI Mediumship Demonstrations The Institute’s mediumship
demonstrations are open-to-the-public events, and generally are held at
The META Center NYC, 214 W. 29th St., 16th Fl. (between 7th & 8th) on
specific Wednesdays (see schedule add link to new page here below for
exact dates). For these events only, classes from different
nights/sections are combined. All students from all sections are
encouraged, but not required, to participate in these demonstrations, and
are always welcome to bring a guest. Additional guests are welcome on a
space-available basis; a $40 admission fee, payable in advance, is
required for additional guests. Refund Policy IMI does not offer refunds for missed
classes. Should you register for a class section and then decide to cancel
your participation, there is a $30 processing fee. This fee is waived if
you leave the funds on account for a future class section; please note
that you will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list if we must
process a refund. Weather Cancellation Policy A Special Request The teachings presented by Dr.
Lauren Thibodeau are uniquely hers and as such are protected by copyright.
Many of her theories and techniques, which form a cohesive, modern,
practical approach to mediumship, are found in her books, articles and
other writing and media. A professor of transpersonal studies independent
researcher, her work is inclusive of aspects of transpersonal psychology,
humanistic psychology, Buddhism, Taoism, Spiritualism, Spiritism,
shamanism, the Kabbalah, Edgar Cayce, William James, Carl Jung, the
perennial philosophy, and more. Her work also reflects her broad
understanding of historical American and British spiritualist approaches
to mediumship as well as her extensive training as a psychotherapeutic
counselor. Please do not appropriate any aspect her work, written or
spoken, and/or use it without permission and proper attribution. Thank you
for your understanding. Once you've read and agreed to the above information, please fill out an application here:
